A meme coin with a live game: how the QUIT flight works
Quit Your Job ($QUIT) is a meme coin on Solana, launched on pump.fun. It follows Gary, an office worker who strapped two fire extinguishers to his chair and left through the ceiling. It is also a meme coin with a game, or six if you count the arcade. The main one turns the live $QUIT price into Gary's altitude. This page explains how, down to what each button does.
The live game in one minute
The live game sits on the home page, under the title SEND IT. The short version:
The game on quityourjob.fun reads the $QUIT price from the chain and compares it with the launch price. That sets Gary's altitude floor by floor. Buys push him up. Sells drop Brenda from HR under a parachute.
"The chain" is the Solana blockchain, the public record of every trade. The site reads the price there, not from a price website. The launch price is what $QUIT cost when it was created on pump.fun. Divide the current price by the launch price and you have Gary's height. The New Employee Handbook says it in five words: the price is the altitude.
It works both ways. When buyers push the price up, Gary climbs. When sellers push it down, he sinks back through the floors, and Brenda from HR bails out under a PAPER HANDS parachute. Paper hands is crypto slang for someone who sells at the first sign of a drop.
A cartoon show plays over the flight, and the office cast reacts as the price moves. The game screen has three buttons. Once the coin is live, BUY $QUIT takes you to the buying guide. CHEER sets off a crowd cheer and does nothing to the price. EJECT gets its own section below. If you would rather read numbers than watch a man in a chair, the chart floor will show the same price as a regular chart once the coin exists.
The eight floors of the flight
Each floor has its own scenery and its own caption. Starting at the bottom:
- Cubicle: rows of gray desks, captioned GARY HAS LEFT HIS DESK.
- Ceiling: THROUGH THE CEILING. DALE SAW EVERYTHING.
- Roof: the office roof, where GARY IS NOW ABOVE MANAGEMENT.
- Chopper: helicopter height, and THE TRAFFIC REPORT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
- Penthouse: a glass boardroom at the top of a tower, where THE ILLUMINATI HAVE SEEN GARY.
- Orbit: space, captioned SUPERINTELLIGENCE HAS NO JURISDICTION HERE.
- Moon: GARY HAS LANDED. MONDAY HAS NOT.
- Mars: the last floor, captioned NO MONDAYS ON MARS.
The floors show where the price is now, not where it is going. Gary can fall back through every one of them.
What ejecting means
EJECT is the game's word for jumping out of the chair. Once the coin is live, press it and the game stamps your eject card with Gary's altitude at that second. The card stays in your own browser. The POST IT button on the eject floor shares the card as a picture, or saves the picture where your browser cannot share. EJECT also opens the coin's page on pump.fun in a new tab.
EJECT does not sell anything, and nothing on quityourjob.fun can move coins out of your wallet. It does not move Gary either. He carries on with the live price, up or down, and the card's last line says as much: GARY KEPT GOING. The handbook takes a relaxed view. Ejecting is legal. Bragging is mandatory.
When the price feed is late
The game asks for a fresh price every 3 seconds. If 30 seconds pass with no new reading, it drops the height it can no longer confirm and puts up SIGNAL LOST. It picks up again with the next good reading.
The WARM-UP, the rehearsal before launch
$QUIT does not exist yet, so there is no real price to read. Until it does, the game runs a rehearsal called the WARM-UP. Think of it as a fire drill. It flies Gary on made-up trades, with a launch, a climb, a dip and a comeback, and visitors start on one shared clock. No real wallet ever appears in it. The flights are scripted, so they show how the game looks, not where the price will go.
The rehearsal is labeled on screen. WARM-UP sits beside the altitude readout, and the spot that will count holders reads WARM-UP REHEARSAL. Each trade in the feed reads WARM-UP BUYER where a wallet address would go. BUY $QUIT and EJECT stay off, and EJECT says so: EJECT OPENS AT LAUNCH. The labels come down when the coin goes live, and from then on the game reads the real chain.
The arcade needs no wallet
The building also has an arcade of free browser games about office life, for a phone or a laptop, with nothing to install and no sign-up. None of them asks for a wallet, and you do not need to hold $QUIT to play.
- Stapler Storm: staplers fall in time with the music, and you catch them in three trays.
- Escape the Standup: Gary climbs 60 floors to the roof, dodging calendar invites, with Brenda from HR chasing him.
- Fire the Overlords: pick Gary or Intern Dev and fire the overlords who run the office.
- Fire Exit: hold one button to fire the extinguishers under Gary's chair, and let go to drop.
- You Wandered Into Accounting: decline each meeting invite with a click or a tap before it gets through. It doubles as the site's 404 page, so a wrong turn still gets you a game.
What the game does not do
Watching the game and playing the arcade never need a wallet. If you buy on this site, lock an EX-EMPLOYEES design or start a coin, your own wallet asks you to connect and then to approve, and nothing moves until you approve it there. You can also buy on pump.fun. Nobody from Quit Your Job will ever ask for your recovery phrase.
A recovery phrase is the list of secret words that opens a wallet. Optional holder features can ask you to sign a message when they are open, and signing sends nothing.
The game never trades for you. Every purchase or sale happens in your own wallet, and you confirm it there.
Watching and the arcade are free, and holding $QUIT changes neither. Arcade scores are game points, not $QUIT.
